AI disclaimer

I think AI is a useful tool that developers need to get used to using, but it does a faily poor job of creating high value content. This is where the human element, ie me, needs to come in.

I do use AI for some things in this blog, but every word is one I have intended to write and chosen myself. When using AI for content of a post it is for the following things:

  • Spell checking - I often run a spell check prompt before posting.
  • Auto Complete - Sometimes AI actually guesses word for word what I was going to say. In that case I have accepted its suggestion.
  • Image generation - I have used AI to generate some images for posts. They are not really for anything other than looking at something pretty. I would call these low value items that I don't care about too much.
  • Code generation - This is only auto complete as I am making examples. I do all the design work myself.
  • Debugging - I sometimes use AI to help debug code by suggesting potential fixes or identifying issues.

I will never get an agent to write an article for me or come up with the ideans, examples, or components - as these are what I want to get good at.

Why use AI at all?

I write this blog to help myself learn new tools, try new things, and because I want to learn to articulate things in a better way. I then share them with others for feedback, suggestions, and the hope they may get something out of it too. I don't see AI as being something that goes against any of these goals as long as I use it correctly.
